Grant Chappell

My name is Grant Chappell nicknamed ‘Chaps’ & I’m the host of Rabbitohs Radio.
I’m 43 years old, married to Carola Chappell with 3 kids Dekotah 11, Havana 8 & Samara 6.
I was born in Paddington, grew up in Maroubra beach, attended Coogee South Public School and attended high school at Marcellin College Randwick.
I played rugby league for the Maroubra Lions in the Souths Juniors system. I have 20 years experience in beach commentary of surfing competitions and I’ve been MC on many occasions eg weddings, presentations and Anzac commitments. I’m the president of the North Maroubra Surf Riders.
I’m a life long fan with a love and passion for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and I’ve been a member since 1998. I have been employed at DP world Australia as a stevedore foreman since 1999. #grantchappell #rabbitohsradio

Darren Brown

My name is Darren Brown nickname ‘Browny’ and I’m am a host on Rabbitohs Radio. I was born and raised in the inner city suburb of Redfern…the heartland of the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs. I went to primary school at Mt Carmel Waterloo and my secondary school was Hurstville Boys High. I was a South Sydney junior having played for Zetland, Mascot and the Waterloo Waratahs. I was fortunate to be part of the South Sydney Junior league representative system playing Harold Mathews Cup, SG Ball Cup (premiers 1986) and the Jersey Flegg Cup. I was the graded and made my under 23’s debut at Redfern Oval. I made my 1st grade debut at the age of 19 in 1988 & from there going on to play a total of 147 NRL games and 61 Super League games in the UK. My Clubs included:- South Sydney Rabbitohs- Canterbury Bulldogs- Western Suburbs Magpies- Penrith Panthers- Trafford Burrough (UK)- Salford (UK)
My career lasted through 3 different era’s 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s and I was fortunate to play with and be coached by some of greats of this game throughout the the modern era.
I am a family man with my partner Belinda and 3 children Jaiden (22). Tyler (21) & Charli (13).
I work as a stevedore & I’m employed by DP World Australia.

Steve Mavin

My name is Steve Mavin nicknamed ‘Mavo’ & I’m a host on Rabbitohs Radio.
I was born in Sydney & grew up in Botany. I went to Banksmeadow School & South Sydney High.
I’m 51 years old & I’m married to Samantha & I have 2 daughters Jasmin 24 & Demi 22.
I played 101 first grade games that included 89 for the South Sydney Rabbitohs & 12 for the Canterbury Bulldogs. I scored 27 tries. I’ve always loved sports & the beach. When I wasn’t playing footy I’d be competing in the nippers or running & swimming in the school carnivals.
I’ve worked as a stevedore at DP World Australia for the last 13 years. I play golf whenever I can & also enjoy travelling. I’ve always been into computers & I also like writing, taking photos & shooting videos. My interest in podcasting has grown steadily from being a casual listener to now producing & editing our own show every week. My career stats- #stevemavin #rabbitohsradio
