99 Not Out For Cameron Murray

Cameron Murray will play his 100th game for the Rabbitohs when he takes the field against the Roosters on Friday night.

Cam has come a long way since he became Rabbitoh #1134 when Michael Maquire handed him his debut off the bench in 2017 in a round 8, 25-24 loss the the Broncos at Stadium Australia.

Ironically it was Cams team mate in waiting for 2022 Anthony Milford who booted a stunning left foot field goal to sink the Bunnies that night. Wayne Bennett was the Broncos coach.

Cams’ first try came in a round 24, 36-18 win over the Warriors at Stadium Australia. The Rabbitohs were down 12-4 in the 33rd minute when Cody Walker turned Cam on the inside before he shot through the gap to score a memorable four pointer underneath the black dot.

Cam v the Knights

Since that day Cam has continually made an impact for his team, engaging the line keeping the defence honest & working himself to a stand still in defence. Just last week in the Bunnies round 23 loss to the Panthers Cam made 55 tackles in his 69 minutes of game time.

23 year old Cams’ star continues to rise, he’s now played seven State Of Origin games, a test for the Kangaroos & many believe the captaincy of the Rabbitohs lies in his future with the departure of Adam Reynolds in 2022.

Cameron Murray grew up in the South Sydny area supporting the Rabbitohs & playing for the Mascot Jets in the Souths Junior Rugby League Competition. Cams’ dad Corey played for the Rabbitohs (#884), sister Bryanna played for the Souths Womens team & mum Angela never misses a game so there’s definitely red & green blood in the Murray family veins.
