Yesterday at Erskineville Oval, Rabbitohs rookie Peter Mamouzelos came over to sit with the legendary George Piggins in the grandstand.

This encounter took place in the row behind Grant Chappell from Rabbitohs TV who said “It had started to rain so Pete moved up under cover & came over when he saw George.”
“After I took the photo we all started chatting with Georges’ close mates Norm Lipson & the Lahood boys.”

“Pete showed a huge amount of respect for George when he told us that he liked hearing the old stories about the great man. Pete wasn’t there for a photo opportunity, he just wanted to spend a few minutes with the man who is a true Souths hero.”
South Sydney Rabbitohs first grade player number #546 George & first grade player number #1170 Pete are both as tough as they come & have both played hooker for the club.
George hasn’t been in the best of health lately but it was nice to see him out & about watching the footy.
