Souths SG Ball team recorded their first win of the season today defeating the Bears 36-22 at Ironmark High Performance Centre, Sydney.
The teams’ first win in 2022 was a pleasing result for coach John Sutton & his assistant Beau Falloon & a much needed shot in the arm for a side that has so much talent in their ranks.
Skilful captain Louis Grossemy opened the scoring for the home side with a brilliant kick & chase four pointer in the 23rd minute & the try was converted by flying winger Tyrone Munro who kept a perfect 6 from 6 record for the day.
The kid from Campbelltown rising star Terrell Kalo Kalo then put on a clinic, scoring tries in the 26th, 42nd & 55th minute to notch up a hat trick. After a concussion set back that saw him miss 10 games it looks like Terrell is well & truly back so look for him to force his way into the first grade team sooner rather than later.
Grossemy crossed for a well deserved 2nd try in 58th minute before big country boy & former Coonamble Bear Thomas Fletcher crossed the stripe in the 56th minute.
Next week our under 19s lads take on the Magpies Saturday 19th March midday at Kirkham Oval, Camden.
