Team List Tuesday – Rabbitohs v Panthers – Round 4

The Rabbitohs take on the undefeated Panthers this Friday 8.05pm at Bluebet Stadium in a replay of the 2021 NRL Grand Final won by the team from the foot of the mountains.

The last time this Panthers team were beaten was by the Rabbitohs in the first week of the 2021 finals series. Souths had a completion rate of 84% that day and will need that type of ball control again on Friday night.

The importance of holding the ball and getting through sets of six can’t be overstated. In rounds one and two the Bunnies completed at 66% and 61% respectively on the way to consecutive losses. Last week that percentage rose to 81% in an impressive victory over the Evil Empire.

Souths have defended well so far this season allowing a total of 8 tries in 3 games. Another huge defensive effort is a must against the competition leaders.

Big defence, hold the ball, build pressure on the opposition and our attacking weapons like Latrell Mitchell, Cody Walker and Alex Johnston will get the job done.

Clive Churchill medalist Nathan Cleary is set to return from shoulder surgery which only adds to the enormity of this clash, being it on!

Blake Taaffe is back!
