The Rabbitohs were off their game today and never really got going against a Raiders team that came to Apex Oval, Dubbo to play footy.
JJ represents Rabbitohs TV at Apex Oval, Dubbo today.
The 32-12 loss to the ‘Green Machine’ is the 2nd disastrous result in 2 years after the Panthers absolutely smashed Souths last year at the same NSW country venue.
Souths lost Junior Tatola in the first tackle of the game to a head knock and he was a huge loss after being one of the teams best last week against the Warriors.
There were however no excuses for a lacklustre performance peppered with drop balls, penalties and poor defence for the majority of the game.
Our injured captain Cameron Murray may not be far away from a return, Latrell Mitchell is still getting treatment in the US but hopefully back soon and Mark Nicholls is due back next week as well.
Dubbo Boost are Souths fans.
Some talented depth returning to the ranks may be the answer to lift the sides on field play to an acceptable level.
JJ said hello to Davvy Moale & Shaq Mitchell in Dubbo today.
In one of the only bright spots on a dark day, Souths winger Alex Johnston moved to 2nd all time on the Rabbitohs try scoring list equalling Benny Wearings total of 144.
AJ sits just 2 behind Nathan Merritts 146 so 3 more tries will see him break the record.
Next week Souths take on the Wests Tigers on Saturday 5.30pm at Accor Stadium and the Rabbitohs TV team will present the post match function in the P&O Members deck.
The people have spoken, the 2022 Federal Election has been decided and the 31st Prime Minister of Australia is Anthony Albanese.
Australias 31st Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
The Rabbitohs TV team would like to congratulate Mr Albanese on a famous victory for the Labour Party and also give special mention to Matt Thistlethwaite for winning his seat of Kingsford Smith.
59 year old Anthony Albanese was born in Sydney to parents Carlo Albanese and Maryanne Ellery. His mother was an Australian of Irish descent, while his father was from Barletta in Southeastern Italy.
Anthony Albanese and Russell Crowe.
Anthony Albanese is a lifelong Rabbitohs supporter who served as a board member of the club from 1999 to 2002 and was influential in the fight to have the club readmitted to the NRL.
In his moving victory speech to the nation last night, Mr Albanese also known as ‘Albo’ said “Tonight the Australian people have voted for change” as he stood on stage at the Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club alongside partner Jodie Haydon and son Nathan.
“My fellow Australians, it says a lot about our great country that a son of a single mum who was a disability pensioner, who grew up in public housing down the road in Camperdown can stand before you tonight as Australia’s prime minister”.
“I hope that my journey in life inspires Australians to reach for the stars”.
Sam Burgess, Matt Thistlethwaite and Anthony Albanese.
Both Matt Thistlethwaite and Anthony Albanese won their seats in the 2022 election.
Mr Albanese showed his governments intentions to further reconciliation by saying “I commit to the Uluru Statement from the heart in full.”
On climate change “Together we can end the climate wars. Together we can take advantage of the opportunity for Australia to be a renewable energy superpower. Together we can work in common interests with business and unions to drive productivity, lift wages and profits.”
Anthony Albanese gave an acceptance speech to the nation late on Saturday night besides partner Jodie Haydon and son Nathan.
At the time of writing it isn’t clear if Labour will win the 76 seats needed to form a majority government but one thing is certain, our newly elected Prime Minister is a South Sydney Rabbitohs man.

Jersey Flegg fullback Terrell Kalo Kalo.
Grant Chappell from Rabbitohs TV was at Redfern to watch the Flegg and reported that “The Flegg had a spirited come back, losing 24- 20 after they were down 24-6.”

When Rabbitohs winger Alex Johnston scored his 143rd try last week against the Warriors it took him one step closer to becoming the clubs all time leading try scorer.

The incredibly talented Nathan Merritt holds the Rabbitohs record with 146 tries and the legendary Benny Wearing sits 2 tries behind him on 144.
Alex Johnston also known as AJ needs just 4 more tries to break the record and there’s a good chance he will do it this year in his 9th season at the club.

Merritt achieved his try total in 11 seasons at Souths (with a 2 year 8 try stint at the Sharks in between that we aren’t counting here).

When looking at Merritts total we must take into account that his career began in a struggling Souths team that had just been re admitted to the competition.
AJs career began in the glorious 2014 season when the Rabbitohs had become an NRL powerhouse. He made his debut against the Broncos at Lang Park alongside superstars Greg Inglis and Sam Burgess and of course scored a try. Try doubles in games 2 and 3 set AJ on the successful try scoring path that has continued every season since.

Wearings trys were scored in 13 seasons from 1921-1933, a golden era for the club in which we won 7 premierships.
Benny Wearing
Regardless of the circumstances of those that have come before him one thing is certain, Alex Johnston is a try scoring freak who knows his way to the tryline and is one of the best finishers in NRL history.

The all time NRL try scoring record is held by Ken Irvine with 212 tries. At the moment Alex Johnston sits equal 19th but a climb up higher on that ladder is inevitable for the flying Rabbitoh winger.
Last Friday we paid a visit to the Kingsford office of our valued partner NG Farah to meet their team.
Watch our chat with Stephanie on Rabbitohs TV.
Like many Australian success stories, NGFarah Pty Ltd started with one working man pursuing a clever idea to provide for his family. He had a winning formula: more than 55 years later, NGFarah has grown to become a highly successful, family owned enterprise.
NGF – Nassim George Farah.
It was 1962 when Nassim and Doreen Farah opened their real estate business in a small upstairs office at 343 Anzac Parade, Kingsford. Today NGFarahs multi level real estate centre boasts never ending pedestrian traffic at the ‘Nine Ways’ roundabout – just five doors down from where Nassim began. His mission in 1962 was exactly the same as it is today:
TO CREATE a dynamic, independent real estate agency servicing our community in Sydney’s South East.
TO OFFER unmatched local knowledge, service and innovative sales marketing, achieving the very best results for clients.
TO BUILD trust and respect by conducting all dealings with integrity and honesty.
NGFarah has evolved from being an ambitious sole trader to an undisputed local market leader, employing three generations of the Farah family including the founders’ wife, Mrs Doreen Farah.
