Benji Marshall Becomes Our Oldest Rabbitoh

The Rabbitohs oldest player since 1957 was the legendary Jack Rayner until Benji Marshall came along. Souths club historian Brad Ryder explains-

“Jack Rayner was born on 11 April 1921 and his last game was v Manly at Redfern on the 3rd of August 1957, so he was nearly 36 years 4 months. The Rabbitohs won 19-10.”

“Benji Marshall was born on 25 February 1985, which makes him 36 years 5 months already & the clubs oldest ever player to play first grade.
